Who we are: Casa Alianza Nicaragua (CAN) serves children and youth ages 13-17 who are facing homelessness, human trafficking, and other situations that have left them vulnerable. We welcome all young people in need, and offer them unconditional love, absolute respect, and the tools they need to reach for a happy, successful adulthood.
Our shelter: Our residence provides separate dormitories for girls and boys, and special designated dormitories for children overcoming addiction and those who have survived sexual exploitation or trafficking. We also have a residence for teen moms and their babies.
Our programs: CAN provides educational supports and vocational training to help prepare our youth for an independent future. Our anti-trafficking program helps identify and confront traffickers and assists survivors. And our community development program helps young people in impoverished neighborhoods stay in school and avoid gang life and addiction.
